A Night at the Museum

Art

Select Museums in Italy Open until Midnight on the Last Saturday of the Month!

Starting last July, in 2013, the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage began an initiative called "Una Notte al Museo," A night at the Museum, to open select National Museums in Italy at night. The event was scheduled to last until the end of 2013, but it looks like it may go on into 2014 as well!

This Saturday, January 25th, musuems in many cities in Italy will be open from 8:00pm to 12:00 midnight! Here are some museums of note that will be participating:

Florence:

Medici Chapel

Uffizi Gallery

Accademia Gallery

Rome:

Balbi Crypt

National Musuem of Modern & Contemporary Art

National Etruscan Musuem of Villa Giulia

Palazzo Massimo

Palazzo Altemps

Diocletian Thermal Baths

Venice:

Accademia Gallery

Giorgio Franchetti alla Ca' d'Oro Gallery

Naples:

Castel Sant'Elmo

National Archaeology Museum

Capodimonte Musuem

Palazzo Reale

This is a great opportunity to see some of Italy's most amazing musuems in a new light! Whether you're a tourist or a local, take advantage of these extended hours on Saturday January 25th to see a musuem that normally wouldn't have fit into your busy schedule.

Visit the Ministry of Cultural Heritage website for more information about "Una Notte al Museo," and for a full list of Musuems participating in the event this Saturday, January 25th.
