Description:

This shore excursion from the port of La Spezia to Cinque Terre is a romantic tour that will allow you to explore the spectacular pastel towns (Vernazza, Monterosso, Riomaggiore, Manarola) and fantastic scenery of the Ligurian Coast.

With this private tour to the Cinque Terre you will meet your licensed private guide at the port of La Spezia (or at your hotel) and together you will go from the port to the train station (walking or by taxi) and with a short train ride of about 10 minutes you will reach Riomaggiore, the first town. Your guide will lead you through this picturesque coast-side village with post-card perfect panoramas at every bend. Your tour will wind you through the narrow pebbled streets, bringing you to the rocky cove where colorful buildings keep watch over the crowd of fishing boats.

From Riomaggiore you and your guide will travel via ferry-boat (or train in case of bad weather and during autumn-winter time) to Manarola, since the hiking path Via dell’Amore is currently closed. Manarola is perched atop jagged ocean cliffs and surrounded by lush-green vineyards and is the second of Cinque Terre’s five towns. Savor the fresh coastal air, purchase a typical white linen outfit or taste the local wine Sciacchetrà, as you tour this colorful town with your guide.

From Manarola, you will depart on a public ferry-boat for Vernazza (if sea conditions permit, the alternative will be arrival via train). Enjoy the view of pastel villages, the landlocked town of Corniglia and the dramatic coastline as you sail towards Cinque Terre’s most famed town. Once reaching the small port at Vernazza, your tour will continue through this enchanted village as you visit the natural harbor with bobbing buoyed boats, the small-pebbled beach and the bayside piazza. Admire the old fortress that once protected the town for centuries from raiding pirates and step inside the domed church Santa Margherita d’Antiochia. Here you will have time to stop for lunch and taste the flavors of the regions (your guide will be happy to give you suggestions for lunch options).

From Vernazza, you will take the train for a short ride to Monterosso, the last town during your visit. Your tour will continue as you pass Monterosso’s large beach, lined with colorful umbrellas and spiral up through the village.

After your visit to Monterosso, the tour will conclude as you will take the train back to La Spezia train station and from there to the port (walking or by taxi) on time to board your ship (please contact us if you wish to arrange a different pick-up or drop-off point). Please note that from the cruise terminal you can either walk to the train station (15-20 minutes) of take a taxi, price not included, 15 Euro for each ride (15 Euro total per car, not per person) .

CINQUE TERRE PRIVATE BOAT TOUR- If you wish you can also add a private boat tour departing from Monterosso, the last town of Cinque Terre. You can choose between two options:

- SHORT BOAT TOUR (1 HOUR): your private guide will take you to the pier where you will meet your skipper and board your boat. You will navigate through the marine park and stop for swimming. You will then return to the starting point in Monterosso. Here you will meet again your guide and go back to La Spezia by train.

- LONG BOAT TOUR (4 HOURS): in this case after you meet your skipper you will say goodbye to your private guide. You will navigate along the coastline, have spectacular views of the Cinque Terre towns from the sea, stop for swimming in the clear waters of the Marine Park. On the way, it is also possible to stop at Porto Venere so you can explore one of the loveliest towns of the Ligurian coast. You will then get onboard your private boat again and reach the main port of La Spezia where you will be dropped-off. From there you will go back to the port or hotel on your own.

Please note that the private boat tour is subject to availability and weather conditions. In case the weather does not guarantee safety of navigation you will have a full refund. The boat is for maximum 6 people (for bigger parties please contact us).

You can choose a private boat tour from the options menu in the reservation box located in the upper right side of this page.

This is a private tour so you will not be part of a group, the guide will be entirely dedicated to you. The itinerary is flexible and you can decide how you prefer to spend your time. You can generally visit four towns, but the number of towns that you will visit depends on the amount of time that you wish to spend in each village.

Please note that the ferry-boat service is suspended between November 1st and March 20th.

The towns of Cinque Terre cannot be toured by car: together with your private guide you will go from one to the other by train or boat. Due to the nature of the places visited, this tour is unfortunately not suitable for persons with mobility limitations.

This tour was wonderful ! We really enjoyed the tour and our guide. He was very informed about the area and history of the people, culture and architecture. He was personable and a joy to converse with. He made sure that he arranged our stops to be sure we made our lunch reservation on time. He took the extra step to introduce us to the owner of Miky restaurant. We got very attentive service as a result ! At the end of the day , our guide escorted us to the right train platform ! All day we felt like we were with a good friend. Thank you so much for organizing this ! Lisa & Todd

Without a doubt, this 6 hour private tour of Cinque Terre from La Spezia with KissfromItaly, was the BEST tour we have ever booked! On this particular trip, we booked 5 different private tours with 5 different companies. We were thrilled with the attention to detail and thoroughness of the KissfromItaly team. The initial contact was prompt and detailed. Our guide Claudio met us promptly at the port. He took care of all the train tickets and guided us through the fairly big crowds in every station. Our first stop was Riomaggiore. Claudio assessed the train schedule and walked us through the lovely town as he told us about the heritage and traditions of the town. After about 45 minutes we headed back to the train to travel to our next spot, scenic Vernazza. Here, Claudio showed us the best gelato shop on the Cinque Terre. We learned the history of the old, narrow buildings that line the harbor along with the story of the church by the sea in the town. The views of the Mediterranean were stunning! Our next and last stop was Monterosso. We were grateful to have our guide with us to negotiate the traffic and the schedules. At Monterosso, Claudio called ahead to reserve a table for us at a local restaurant where we indulged in local dishes of pasta with rich pesto and mussels with red sauce and pasta. We finished with the necessary tiramisu. Later, we headed back to the train station for the ride back to La Spezia. I cannot imagine taking this journey on our own considering the crowds and train schedules. Claudio was a font of information and made our limited time in Cinque Terre extra special. I highly recommend Claudio and Kiss from Italy tour company!
