This private tour of Florence is the perfect introduction for the visitor who wants to see the most beautiful attractions of Florence in a half day (3 hours duration).
An art historian from our team will take you through the historical center of this marvellous city known as the cradle of the Renaissance.
The itinerary will begin at Florence's cathedral, the basilica of Saint Mary of the Flower, also known as the Duomo. Just outside you will see the San Giovanni Baptistry and learn about the history of this octagonal building, one of the oldest of Florence. Right in front of it stands the campanile (bell tower) by Giotto, a slender structure that is a great example of Florentine Gothic architecture.
Your private tour will continue at the Accademia Gallery to see the David by Michelangelo, probably the most famous sculpture in the world. The entry will be quick as we use skip the line tickets (please note this is an additional option, you may choose it from the reservations box located at the top right of this page - closed on Monday).
Going along Via Calzaiouli we will pass by Orsanmichele, the ancient granary of the city and reach Piazza Signoria, one of the most important squares of Florence. The square is dominated by the Palazzo Vecchio (Old Palace) the town hall started in 1299 by Arnolfo di Cambio. The piazza is enriched by the Loggia dei Lanzi, with its many statues and by the fountain of the Neptune. The walk will continue through the courtyard of the Uffizi and heading towards the Arno river we will arrive to Ponte Vecchio, the Old Bridge. Because of its beauty and history this is the only bridge that was not destroyed by the Nazis during the World War II and stands today as one of the symbols of Florence.
The tour will be led by one of the guides of the KissFromItaly team. All our guides have graduate degrees in history or archaeology and are officially licensed by the Municipality of Florence (or any other city where they operate) and, most important, they are friendly and caring persons who will be happy to passionately share with you their knowledge about this amazing city.
