Description:

A visit to Florence can hardly be considered complete without a guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery.

Being one of the most important museums in the world with one of the largest collections of art, it is a place where a knowledgeable guide adds a tremendous amount of value. The palace was designed by Giorgio Vasari and built starting in 1560 as offices (hence the name uffizi) for the administration of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany under Cosimo I de' Medici. The works were later continued by Bernardo Buontalenti under Francis I. The importance of the Uffizi stems from various causes: from being one of the first museums open to the public in the world, from its architectural solutions, and for being a hall of fame of the most important artists of all times.

During the visit you will admire some of the most important works of art of the Western civilization including: Giotto (Madonna Ognissanti), Botticelli (the Spring, the Birth of Venus), Michelangelo (Tondo Doni), Leonardo da Vinci (Annunciation, Adoration of Magi), Rapahel (Portrait of Leo X, Madonna of the Goldfinch), Caravaggio (Bacchus, Sacrifice of Isaac, Medusa), Paolo Uccello (Battle of San Romano), Titian (Venus of Urbino, Flora).

This private tour of the Uffizi will be led by an art historian from our team who will focus on the most important treasures of this vast museum, telling you the history behind the work and the artist and putting it in the context that will make you appreciate these masterpieces to the fullest extent. In such a huge collection of more than 60 rooms, a private guide is particularly helpful to enjoy the most significant pieces of art without wasting time and energies wandering around for hours.

This Uffizi Museums tour includes the reservation to skip the long lines at the entrance. This tour has a 3 hours duration that is a sufficient time to see the most beautiful highlights of this vast museum. If you wish to have a more detailed visit you can add one more hour of tour (so the total duration will be 4 hours). In the reservations box that you find in the upper right of this page, open the options menu and select the one hour extension.

My Mother took a trip to Italy together (who is 76!) and she wanted to visit the Uffizi Museum so I booked a tour online before we left the USA. We wanted to have a guide walk us through and I was not sure what we were going to get - well let me tell you - We had a great time; the company Kiss From Italy was easy to book, they send the confirmation data via email; we meet our guide (who was really wonderful!) at the statue of David and we she knew everything about the museum and the different pieces of art throughout. Spoke great English and was a wonderful young lady. I would do it again, definitely! Karen - Florida
