Itinerary

Pickup at Civitavecchia Port

Your day begins right at the dock, where your private driver will welcome you. Enjoy a comfortable transfer in a luxury, air-conditioned sedan or minivan. After about one hour, you’ll arrive in the city center and meet your private guide to start your journey through the most famous landmarks of Rome.

Colosseum

Your first stop is the legendary Colosseum, the most iconic monument of ancient Rome.
You may choose to:

  • See the Colosseum from the outside to save time and avoid crowds
  • Visit inside with skip-the-line tickets (security screening required, some waiting time needed)

Capitoline Hill & Roman Forum Viewpoint

Continue to the Capitoline Hill, redesigned by Michelangelo. From the terrace, enjoy a stunning panoramic view over the Roman Forum—one of the best photo spots in Rome.

Baroque Rome: Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona

Explore the highlights of Baroque Rome with your guide: Trevi Fountain, where tossing a coin “guarantees” a return to Rome, the elegant Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, built over an ancient Roman stadium and one of Rome’s most beautiful squares

Lunch break

During the day there will be time for a lunch break. If you choose to visit both the Colosseum and Vatican Museums inside, the lunch break will be short to keep the day on schedule. If you prefer outside-only visits, you’ll have more time to relax and enjoy the delicious food of Rome. Lunch price is not included, your guide will recommend great options based on your preferences and the time available

Pantheon

Visit the extraordinary Pantheon, the best-preserved Roman temple in the world, dating back to the 2nd century AD. Its massive dome and open oculus make it one of the most impressive architectural masterpieces of ancient Rome.

You may choose to:
– See the Pantheon from the outside for a relaxed pace
– Visit the Pantheon inside

Vatican City

Cross the Tiber River and arrive at Vatican City, the final and most impressive chapter of your day. You can customize this portion based on your preferred pace:

  • Skip the Museums / Sistine Chapel and view St. Peter’s Basilica from the outside for a smoother, more relaxed itinerary
  • Enter the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica with skip-the-line tickets (security screening still required)

If you choose the inside visit, your guide will lead you through the Vatican Museums’ most important galleries, highlighting masterpieces that span centuries of art and history. The tour continues into the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo’s extraordinary achievement and one of the most celebrated works in Western art. You’ll then enter St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest church in the world, before concluding in St. Peter’s Square, where your private driver will be waiting to take you back to Civitavecchia in comfort and on time.

We had an amazing day exploring Rome with our two kids! The private driver and guide made everything so easy and stress-free. The guide adapted the pace perfectly for our family and was able to engage with the boys, not an easy task, trust me! Going inside the Colosseum was incredible. We decided to skip the Vatican and have no regrets. Had more time for lunch and no rush. It felt safe, comfortable, and completely tailored to us. I can’t recommend this private shore excursion enough for families visiting Rome on a cruise!
